Spanish Resource Center at Hollywood High School LA
CER (Centro Español de Recursos) functions under the form of affiliated agency to the Rossier School of Education through a signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Spain and the University of Southern California since 1990. It provides support to institutions, educators and persons involved or interested in teaching and learning Spanish. It offers resources (an extensive library, including didactic materials, literature, encyclopedias, children's books, videos, online materials), and teacher training courses. CER also organizes cultural events related to the Spanish language and culture for faculty enrichment and cultural exchange. Currently CER is located at Hollywood High School in Los Ángeles. The California Spain Chamber of Commerce (Cámara de Comercio California España CSCC) is a nonprofit organization that promotes knowledge sharing and networking between businesses, academia, technology communities and individuals in California and Spain.
Casa de España is located in the heart of the beautiful city of Whittier, San Gabriel Valley, in Southern California, just twenty minutes from Los Angeles. It is a non profit organization which is governed by a board composed of active members. Cordero Negro specializes in private dinners, cooking classes and catered events. Sandra Cordero was born to a Dutch mother and Spanish father, and raised in Amsterdam. However, she also spent many of her summer holidays on a farm in Spain with her Spanish side of the family in the region of Galicia. This is where she got her first taste, so to speak, of seasonally driven, locally harvested cuisine, and subsequently developed her passion for great food.
The Paella King makes each paella from scratch before your eyes, while you and your guests experience the savors of Spain in your own home. Cooked with an array of colorful, authentic ingredients in about an hour, the paella is absolutely fresh every time. In over 20 years of experience, the Paella King has perfected a variety of recipes, from the most classic to the utterly unique. Piño Moreau was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
Magellan Study Abroad provides educational teen tours for middle and high schools and quality immersion programs for high school students. Magellan summer programs in Spain are are a mix of language studies, cultural and historical excursions, art and dance classes and home-stays with local families. Hundreds of returning students in Southern California alone can be reached to share their unique experience abroad with Magellan. Scholarships for the most engaged students are available.
